Serendipity’s ATV’s (all terrain vehicles) can get places inaccessible by even our great 4x4’s... narrow passageways into the heart of the forest, across rough rocky rivers and fallen trees, up steep trails or narrow paths, to waterfalls or hot springs. Since we are riding the ATV’s completely privately – only you and your Serendipity guides, on your own quadracycles – YOU decide how long or short, hard or soft, according to your interests. Not on fixed routes, but we have plenty of exquisite destinations. No tourists come along -- you are a private team exploring as you want, starting and stopping when you want.
We use the ATV’s as an alternative to 4-wheel drive... all the fun of off road, and the wind in your hair.
Serendipity's ATV's are true 4x4 units, meaning you can lock in the 4x4 when you need it. Our powerful 450 and 700 CC quadracycles (with automatic transmissions) allow you to go 2-up – driver in front, and a person on the back. So even young riders can do some driving – when we are off road, with Serendipity’s guide (or a parent?) on the back.
Our favorite single day rides takes us to an old-fashioned “swimming hole” – a clear bubbly river where we eat a picnic lunch, roast marsh mallows, romp in the stream. Then off through forest and cane fields. And we end up at a little hot springs in real jungle.
On the way home we will have to clean off the mud in the river.
It’s a muddy business, but somebody has to do it.
While we're at it, let's talk about Risk. It's one of the most important aspects of any adventure. We're proud of our record, and our commitment to setting the standard in Costa Rica for minimizing risk.
Our trip was one of the best we have ever taken. It falls right in line with the most important memorable events in our lives:
1) When Cliff and I married
2) The birth of our children (all 4 of them)
3) the birth of our grandchildren
4) the marriages of our daughters
5) Our trip with Serendipity in Costa Rica was fantastic. I wish everyone could experience the difference between tourism and Serendipity adventure expeditions.
