The Best of Horses

People have called us crazy on horseback. But with our horses, you feel the unity of man and horse that legends are born from. Have you ever felt a horse quiver with excitement, just because he feels you on his back, and now he can perform for you? Wait until you meet Caramelo, or Zorro.

The relationship between human and horse predates civilization, and was abandoned when replaced by cars. Horses were our wings, our companions, our claim to gentleness. Indeed, caballero Spanish for "gentleman", is derived from "caballo", which means horse. The term even today defines how a man treated his horse.

There are those of us who remember, in our ancient mind, the wonders of spending time in the freedom atop a well-trained horse.

Horses. Log Bridge. Rain Forest. You have ridden back in time to an era of exploration, freedom, self-reliance.

Private Horseback Riding, Customized to Your Experience

Serendipity Adventures was a partner in forming a specialty horseback riding operation, Centaura, which explains why we are so well prepared to provide a horseback experience unequaled in Costa Rica, and probably in all of Latin America. Centaura's horses are some of the best trained, healthiest horses you'll ever meet.

Horseback in extraordinary places

Ride full gallop through pastures and sugar cane fields. Race on farm lanes. Swim across jungle rivers. Sit atop your steady mount and quietly penetrate primary forest. Climb mountain trails where only two- or four-legged creatures can go.

Even total novices will believe in centaurs — those wondrous mythical creatures, half man, half horse.

Everyone has a way to enjoy the horses and a picnic lunch

Since the style of horseback with Serendipity is radically different from trail riding, we really need to speak directly with you about your expectations and your skills.

We enjoy taking grandparents along. Sometimes they remember riding horses as a kid. Sometimes they just want to be a part of the laughter, but the hips won't let them climb atop the saddle. Serendipity's solution? Start up one of the old 4x4's and your grandparents climb in -- and they can carry the picnic.

By the end of today, even total novices will believe in centaurs — those wondrous mythical creatures, half man, half horse.

What we won't do is compromise on elements that create an unacceptable risk.

While we're at it, let's talk about Risk. It's one of the most important aspects of any adventure. We're proud of our record, and our commitment to setting the standard in Costa Rica for minimizing risk.

It's time to call us.

Quote:

I especially appreciated full access to (Serendipity guide) Roger, 24/7. While this was inherent in our coming as a small group of 4, still, not having to struggle to be near enough to the guide to hear what was being said and being able to ask endless questions (and have them answered thoughtfully) were real prizes of the trip.

I never felt like a tourist -- only an inquisitive naturalist. Serendipity matched me to Roger, and somehow you knew he wouold be perfect for three generations ...the kids worshiped his every word by the end of the first day.
